After months of planning we are finally ready for the Midwest Ski Film Festival to go off. In this mega-blog we will be letting you know everything you need to know about getting here, getting tickets, and enjoying the festival.

A note about tickets: Tickets may become a bit limited, the best way to ensure you get a ticket is to arrive early. We will be on the street at 3pm (2 hours before doors open) with our sponsors, keeping you entertained while you wait for tickets. Some suggestions if you can’t be there early. Ask a friend to buy you a Wristband, find a fellow Newschoolers Member that would be willing to get you a ticket, come by early to get a ticket, and come back when you are ready for the festival.

How things are going down: Your ticket to the MWSFF is a Wristband, which means you can leave the venue and come back if you want. We will have a long night of entertainment for everyone, and you may find you want to go grab a bite or something, be our guest. Print out the handy schedule below so you do not miss out on what you want to see.

Jibulants Production’s “Let’s Dance”

Upon hearing the news, the crew, and the people of the Midwest went crazy, Luckily we had some photo crews on site to document the action.

The Jibulants Crew won themselves 4 tickets to the festival, $100 to the new Jiberish Concept Store in Denver, and great welcome kit. So come on up to Milwaukee with the Jibulants, and enjoy the largest skiing event in the Midwest. Ever.

We look forward to welcoming everyone to Milwaukee, WI on October 10th. Milwaukee is a great city, with a very eclectic community, going through some fast growth. If this will be your first time in Milwaukee you have come at a great time!

Jiberish Clothing and Scion present the second annual Midwest Ski Film Festival on Saturday October 10th at the Miramar Theatre on Oakland Avenue in Milwaukee. The event will kick-off at 3pm and will feature five feature ski films, attendance by professional skiers and stars of the films, raffles and tons of free giveaways and prizes.

“This is our second year in Milwaukee for the festival and this year event is significantly larger than last years,” says Brian Landrigan, the organizer of the event. “We’re bringing in pro skiers, we’ve got a ton of sponsors, and really sought after stuff to raffle off.”

“When Brian approached us about putting together a ski Film Festival for the Midwest we immediately jumped on-board,” says Pete Drago of Jiberish Clothing, one of the event partners. “Dave Boger and I are both from the Midwest and we know how passionate and dedicated the kids are who live there are to the sport. To have the opportunity to back something that brings all of these people together, in an area that tends to be neglected from a media standpoint, and to support this idea was a no-brainer for us. Brian has worked very hard to make this sorely needed event happen and from the theatre it is being held in, to the movies that will be featured, this will be something we could not afford to miss. Jiberish will be coming in full throttle with athletes in-tow.”

The films that will be shown include Refresh from Level 1 Productions, So Far So Hood from 4bi9 Media, and Every Day Is a Saturday from Poor Boyz Productions. Additionally, there’ll be two local amateur movies, MN Nice, and a second movie to be decided by a contest currently being held on Newschoolers.com (click here for details).

The athletes in attendance are a veritable list of the ‘who’s who’ in the skiing world and include the likes of Tom Wallisch, Mike Hornbeck, Matt Walker, Jon Brogan, Mike Clarke and others.

The raffle will have a wide variety of clothes and equipment offered from our sponsors, and Scion will be providing a free giveaway to everyone in attendance, as well as additional product tosses from our other sponsors.
