For the 09/10 winter Jibulant Productions has teamed up with the guys who started it all in Indiana, FP32 Media. We hope to bring you some of the best riding from all around the midwest as well as visit a few old friends in Colorado and Utah. This year was definitely the most fun that we have had, teaming up with the FP crew gave us a whole different perspective on the sport that you can see if you have ever watched one of the flicks. From early season rail shredage to midseason shoots, all the way to PF7C’s and the FP bus trip, this was one hell of a year. From both of us at FP32 Media and Jibulant Productions, we hope you enjoy it!

I dont know about you guys, but I have been getting back into a lot of Gnarshmallow again.  If you are not already aware, Gnarsh is one of the most fun skiing games out there.  Last summer I made a custom Grab pack for the downloadable version of the game, showed a few people, and  then forgot about it until now.  I changed the standard versions of the mute, safety, japan, etc to awesome ones like a double nose grab, kiesel blunt, tweaked tail, shifty and more which are pictured below.

I have made it super easy to play with our grabpack, just download the MWSFF version below, unzip the file, and you are all set to play.  Just slick on the fullscreen.html file and the game will open up in your browser.  Fun stuff made even more fun by the MWSFF crew.  And my recommendation is that you right click in your browser and select “zoom in”.  It really lets you see what you are doing in the game, and you can see the grabs perfectly.

The Summer is officially here and is now the time that we plan for this years fest, and then get bored.  In order to pass the time and keep sane we can either watch terrible movies and make fun of them, or we can have mini contests.  Now while we love doing both, we want to start off summer right with a cool contest.  At the MWSFF headquarters we have a vinyl sticker machine that is sitting around collecting dust, and we want to bust it out to start making some sweet stickers.  So for our first mini contest of the summer, we are having two sticker design contests.

For our first contest, come up with the coolest sticker designs you can think up.  Any design is free game, it can be one of your crew, a funny saying, cool design, or literally anything.  The design is completely up to you, but the decision is ours, so choose your designs wisely.  This is a great chance for you to get free die-cuts of your very own design

Here are a few examples for you guys, but we want to see originals and they don’t all need to be laptop stickers.

The winner of the contest will be hooked up with a big sticker pack of their winning design in a few different sizes and colors.  Submit your design files in .eps or .ai formats to contests@mwsff.com

The Second sticker contest that we will be running at the same time, is the MWSFF sticker contest.  Our current stickers are quite blahhhhh, and we want to see what the creative minds of the MWSFF community can come up with.  We need the designs to be in .eps or .ai format in order to make them, then submit your designs to contests@mwsff.com.

The Grand prize winner of the MWSFF design sticker contest will receive a grip of stickers inside of a new Bern Helmet.  The contest ends on Saturday June 5th, so you have some time to get your entries in.  At that time we will make a decision about the winners, and let every one know.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have now confirmed what will be THE largest post season party in the entire Midwest.  You saw him play in between movies at the 2010 MWSFF, and some of you were graced with his presence at the MWSFF Thirdward after-party, but now for the first time Hathbanger will be playing a full show in the Midwest.  Threyda and the MWSFF is very excited to bring Hathbanger all the way from Colorado to play a full show for the good people of the Midwest on Saturday May 8th at the Rave in Milwaukee.   Not to be left out of the all excitement, local legend and Threyda Artist Kruser himself will be opening for Hath.  Kruser is a Milwaukee resident who’s all over the local music scene so chances are you’ve heard some of his work at a show, or on 889 radio Milwaukee.  Hailed as the number one promoter of Dub-Step in Milwaukee, Krueser kills it on stage and you will all enjoy hearing his music. Hathbanger might be most famous for his widely accepted hit, “Party and Bullshit in the USA” featuring Biggy and Miley Cyrus.  I mean who has not heard this song? Every party that I have been to in the last year I have heard this song at least once.  However don’t judge him soley on this mega hit.  The real fans love Hath for his diversity of mad mixes, chill beats, loud sounds, and of course Dub.  Check out his musical diversity on both his website, and his streaming audio site.  The bottom line, if you were at last years MWSFF you know first hand how hard this man throws down.  If this is potentially your first time seeing Hathbanger, dont miss it because he wont be in a venue like this in the Midwest for a who knows how long.  Threyda and the MWSFF are truly throwing the largest post season party in the entire Midwest and you do not want to miss it.

Ladies and gentlemen all is not lost around the Midwest as far as skiing goes, you still have a chance to ski on snow.   All you have to do is head over to Nordic Mountain in Wautoma, WI for their end of the season Jam on Saturday May 1st.  We have been there the last 3 years, and have had a great time at each.  The cost is $25 to ride all day from 10am to 5pm

They always have a ton of snow for how late the jam is in the year, and later during the day they give you the freedom to set up their rails however you want.  There are usually a good amount of reps, and always a fun group of kids.  We recommend bringing a grill and chairs at the very least, cause there is nothing quite like skiing and grilling with friends.  One thing we wish Nordic would bring back is the 2 day camping/skiing sesh, so if you guys are reading this, BEST TIME EVER, bring it back!!  The gist of it is that Nordic Mountain throws a great end of the season ski sesh/ party, and we had better see all of you out there again this year.

Its almost that time of year again that we all both love and hate. The Tyrol Spring jam has become a tradition for skiers all over Wisconsin, Minnesota, and the Midwest for end of the season madness. This two day event on April 17th and 18th has both snowboarding and skiing comps, usually different kind of rail jams, big air, pond skim/jump, relay races, and an over 200cm ski race. Although they havnt published the full schedule of events just yet, you can expect them to at theTyrol Webpage.  The nice weather of April allows us to wear shirts instead of jackets, set up tents as home bases, and grill out with buddies, and of course ski all day.

Spring Jam 2008

Whether you live close by Tyrol (talking to you, Cascade and Tyrol Crews) or not , our recomendation is that you reserve a room at the “Krak House” , or Karakahl Country Inn if you are the city of Mt. Horeb. Every year we cram about 11 or 12 kids into one of these motel rooms, party all night with the rest of the skiers and boarders staying there (there is a lot), wake up in the morning, and go ski the second day fully refreshed with their complimentary breakfast of water and stale mini cinnamon buns.   Whether you stay in your room all night, or rage in Gibjilmon’s, the Krak House is the place to be for spring jam.

Spring Jam 2007 Accommodations

If you have never been to Tyrol’s Spring jam, you really need think about going, because it is by far the best event of the year. Just about every skier and boarder you have met on the hill will be there, and its a great time to catch up and ski with all of your buddies from other hills at the same time. I don’t even need to mention the fact that Tyrol has its park on lock down with amazing hits and features just like they have throughout the year.

PF7C’s is almost here! For those of you who have not heard about it, PFC is a end of the year ski and snowboard camp with exclusive terrain, great coaches, and amazingly fun times set at Perfect North Slopes, Indiana. Its a great way to learn new tricks with all your friends, and just have a fun time. Every year PFC has a new theme, and this year is no different with the 7 Seas theme. So pirates, ships, and booty to the max. If anyone is interested in coming down it is March 20th and 21st, 9 to 5. Breakfast and lunch are provided for all the campers as well as free swag, with more being thrown out throughout both days. PFC is also for all skill levels, there are coaches and terrain for any ability level, whether you want to learn how to spin your first 360 or try that switch dub cork 12, we have the ability to help you out. Space is limited to 200 campers this year, so make sure to register now if you want to attend!

We’ve got a brand new site up and running, and that calls for a start up of this years first mini contest.

As you may have noticed, the new site upgrade now includes user profiles, forums, and a mobile version for those of you with smarter phones then myself.  There will be tons of updates on the site for things like spring event coverages, MWSFF updates (which are being worked on as we speak), blog posts of our spring and summer adventures, and of course mini contests.

A ton of people had a lot of fun with these last year, and we gave out a bunch of great prizes.

The first contest of the year is to make a user profile and either post a comment on a page, or in the forums.  For those of you already signed up you are one step ahead of the others.  At the end of the contest we will throw all the user names that are eligible into a hat and pick out 3 winners.  Winners will get a prize pack courtesy of us here a the MWSFF headquarters.
